Lately I've been in some unfortunate situations; i.e., ID theft, my all saving was stolen, passport was forged by criminals, laptop was dead and now have another unlucky problem.
I had a serious toothache on Wednesday evening. My molar tooth was chipped around 1x1.5mm and it was chipped to gum line. I was seriously in pain due to the expose nerve. I guess if I had a gun, I may blow my head off. I called Oscar for his opinion about how to find a dentist to deal with such an urgent case. I also look into NHS website to see what valid information would be helpful. In the next day morning, Ariel gave me a morning call so I could make calls to hospitals and private service for such an emergency. After making 20s phone calls. Eventually there was only one dental service in Whitington will provide emergent slot. Most of dental services do not take urgent case and do not accept new patients as well. Some did accept me but only will give me treatment till the end of June. (I'd definitely go insane.) I was so desperate to find a dentist.

The other day when I was installing a software, suddenly I can't recall which one, but if I could find it again, I'll update in this article. I was trying to install the programme in 'traditional Chinese' version; however, I can't find the selection for language but only found the software use country name to decide the language. I was surprised to see how they define country: 'People Republic of China'(中華人民共和國)and 'Republic of China'(中國). My British friends saw this and was surprised at the selection titles. They were asking me why I don't try to find 'Taiwan'. It's hard for me to explain the details about KMT moving to Taiwan and viewing Taiwan as a 'real China'.
In UK, I prefer to mention that I am from 'Taiwan' rather than saying that 'I am from R.O.C.'. When I travelled with a friend of mine from China to Italy, I saw how airline was confused with two different types of passport associating with 'China' titles. They were asking me where exactly I am from and where my friend is from. (Well, it seems that people who work in the airport check-in desk need more training.) I often say that I am from Taiwan where is based in Chinese culture and we can't deny that Taiwan and China have a shared cultural background. (Well, in International Business concept, we would say it's about the 'psychic distance', which China and Taiwan are quite close due to a shared bond of cultural background.)

I've been reviewing paper regarding tasks, teamwork and ICTs within these few weeks. Then I further develop my International Business research to associate with the concept of 'knowledge transfer' within MNCs under two dimensions, which are 'geotemporal boundaries and contextual distance 'and 'different levels of organisation network (nodal, dyadic and systemic levles)'.
Since my data resources provide an insightful understanding of individual behaviour, I could inspect the micro-foundation of knowledge sharing/learning during the process of knowledge transfer. Lately, I try to find a strategy to develop a 'codebook' to analyse my data resource from the theories. I study how Polanyi (1966) distinguished 'tacit knowledge' (or 'implicit') and 'explict knowledge', and then, adopt the concept of knowledge creation by Nonaka (1994) to review the four processes, which are: socialisation, combination, internalisation and externalisation.

I enjoyed the film '300' very much. Whenever I watch it, I always enjoy the lines and the way that narrator delivers. I am particularly impressed by the lines of:
no time for softness
no room for tolerance

Ariel
